課程概述 |
This course is designed to introduce DFLL students to university-level English speaking. The oral training provided in this class is both technical and cultural. It will not only inform students’ technics in conducting English conversations which entails knowledge in designated vocabulary, grammar and functions, but it will also cultivate them to do so in a culturally appropriate manner. Resuming prep-based oral training in the first semester, students in the second semester will also explore various forms of prompt-based speaking including but not limited to mock debates, panel discussions and sit-down interviews. Students will have a chance to apply the skills they have learned through in-class activities, five forums, five unit exercises and five corresponding self-evaluation reports, and one final presentation. Students are expected to attend regularly, to learn with passion and curiosity, and to show commitment to course assignments and class discussions. |
